Man Jailed Over Fatal West Kensington Stabbing
A 49-year-old man has been convicted over the stabbing death of a West Kensington resident in 2017. Enrique Facelli, from Warwick Road, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility.
Fatal Stabbing at West Cromwell Road
Julian Aubrey was found fatally stabbed inside his flat on West Cromwell Road on 30 October 2017 at around 1:45pm. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene. A post-mortem confirmed the cause of death as multiple stab wounds.
Neighbours and Former Friends Turn Deadly
Facelli and Aubrey had both lived in the same block of flats for nearly two decades. Once friends, their relationship soured over the years. On the day of the attack, Facelli claimed he saw Julian’s body but did not enter the flat. Instead, he alerted workmen downstairs, who discovered the body and called emergency services.
Forensic Evidence Seals Facelli’s Fate
Police arrested Facelli at the scene on suspicion of murder but later released him while investigations continued. Fabelli was re-arrested months later after forensic tests found Julian’s blood on Facelli’s watch strap—a key piece of evidence given Facelli said he never entered the flat.
Facelli was sentenced under the Mental Health Act with a Hospital Order and restricted under section 41, reflecting his diminished responsibility.
Detective Inspector Jon Meager said, “This was a complex investigation that relied heavily on forensic science to secure justice.”
