A garage fire erupted on Broadley Road, Margate today after a lithium-ion battery charger suddenly caught fire. The blaze is believed to have started accidentally but quickly drew the attention of emergency services.

Three fire engines raced to the scene with crews in full breathing gear. They blasted the flames using powerful hose reel jets and deployed a smoke curtain to stop smoke from invading the adjoining property.
