Cox, who lives on Newdigate Road, was quickly arrested at the scene. He faced charges of making threats to kill and reckless arson endangering life. Initially denying the allegations, Cox later changed his plea and admitted both charges before his trial.
On Monday 21 March, Warwick Crown Court sentenced him to 56 months behind bars. He was also slapped with a 15-year restraining order.

Newton stressed the seriousness of domestic abuse: “This horrific crime targets people in their own homes – places meant to be safe. It’s often inflicted by those who should protect them.”
She warned, “Domestic abuse will never be tolerated. We want victims to find the courage to come forward so offenders face justice.”
Newton also encouraged those suffering abuse to seek help, saying, “If you’re scared to talk to police, other support agencies are here. Domestic abuse is never acceptable – please speak out.”
