Schimarr Smith, 20, has been jailed for over five years for running a drugs line between Luton and Cambridgeshire. Smith exploited two vulnerable boys, moving them around the region and placing them in drug dens to serve his customers.
First-Ever STPO Issued in Bedfordshire
In a Bedfordshire first, Judge Johnson slapped a Serious Crime Prevention Order (STPO) on Smith. The court heard how Smith, once a victim of modern slavery himself, chose to prey on ‘ripe for exploitation’ boys, perpetuating the cycle instead of breaking free.
Police Snag Smith After Drugs and Knives Found
- Police found a boy in cambridge/" title="Cambridge" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Cambridge with Class A drugs and a phone, putting Smith on their radar.
- A raid at Smith’s Luton home revealed £2,000 cash, cocaine and heroin packaged for sale, phones, knives, and a stab-proof vest.
- Phone data showed Smith and the boys travelled together by taxi between Luton and Cambridge repeatedly, confirming his control over them.
Accomplice Also Jailed
Dante Daley-Witter, 21, of Luton, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine, heroin, and cannabis. He was handed 2 years and 4 months behind bars.
Smith Banned From Contact With Minors
Smith, currently of no fixed address, is now subject to a 123-device monitoring order and banned from any unsupervised contact with anyone under 18.
