Couple Jailed for Sickening Child Abuse and Sharing Horrific Abuse Videos Online
Christopher Binch, 36, was arrested by the National Crime Agency (NCA) on 12th March 2022. Authorities discovered he not only discussed his twisted sexual interest in children but also uploaded indecent material to an online child abuse group.
Shocking Evidence Found on Phone
Binch shared videos and images he took himself showing a young child being sexually abused. When police arrested him, they seized his mobile phone along with a stash of cocaine, which Binch admitted was for personal use.
Further investigation revealed that although Binch filmed the abuse, the actual assault was carried out by a woman with a tattoo visible in the footage. This matched the tattoo of Binch’s partner, Lindsay Mobey, 34, who was arrested three days later.
Huge Haul of Horrific Images and Videos
Police recovered 347 indecent images of children (IIOC) from Binch’s phone, spanning categories A to C—including extreme and prohibited content. Among the material were three sexual abuse videos Binch filmed himself.
Binch pleaded guilty last November to ten charges, including sexual assault of a child under 13, making and distributing indecent images, possession of extreme pornography, and possession of cocaine.
Mobey also admitted to sexual assault of a child under 13.
Justice Served: Prison Sentences Handed Down
Today at Leicester Crown Court, Binch was sentenced to eight years and one month in prison. He was placed on the sex offenders register for life and given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
Mobey was jailed for two years and one month, with a five-year term on the sex offenders register.
The child victim was safeguarded early in the investigation.
Danny Waywell from the NCA said: “Binch and Mobey worked together to sexually abuse a young child, which he filmed and shared with other paedophiles online. Their actions were calculated and abhorrent; exploiting this child to satisfy their own sexual gratifications and gain some horrific form of kudos among the like-minded online.
