Man Arrested After Police Stop Bus in Harrow Over Firearm Sighting
Police have arrested a man suspected of carrying a firearm after a dramatic bus stop in Harrow. The incident unfolded shortly after reports of shots fired in a local park.
Shots Fired in Roxeth Park Sparks Rapid Response
At just after 11.25am on Wednesday, 30 September, officers were called to Roxeth Recreation Park following reports that two men had discharged a firearm. The suspects, both thought to be in their thirties, fled the scene but remained under close watch.
Armed officers and the National Police Air Service swung into action, using CCTV and aerial support to track down the pair around Harrow.
Bus Stopped and Two Men Detained
By 12.17pm, police spotted two men matching the description boarding a bus on Eastcote Lane. Within minutes, specialist firearms officers halted the bus on Northolt Road and arrested two males on board.
One man, believed to be in his thirties, was found to be carrying a suspected firearm and was taken into custody. The second man was searched but cleared of any wrongdoing.
No Injuries Reported, Investigation Continues
Police confirmed the firearm was not fired on the bus and no injuries have been reported. The investigation is ongoing.
