Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Tilbury Attack Leaves Two Women Injured
A 29-year-old man from Greenwich has been charged with attempted murder following a violent incident in Tilbury that left two women hurt.
Violent Morning in Windrush Road
Police were called to Windrush Road at around 9.35am on Sunday 12 July after reports of a collision involving a woman and a vehicle. The woman sustained serious injuries. Another woman was also assaulted during the incident.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
The man was arrested at the scene and now faces multiple charges: attempted murder, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH), failing to provide a specimen, and driving without a proper licence.
Suspect to Appear in Court
He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 14 July.
Police Reassure Community
Chief Inspector Richard Melton, District Commander for Thurrock, said: “This charge is the result of some really hard work over the last 24 hours. I know this will be a concerning incident to people living and working in Tilbury but we do not believe there is a risk to the wider public.”
