Jason Kelley, 38, was originally jailed in 2021 for burglary but freed early on licence. Trouble came knocking when he failed to follow his licence rules, leading police to issue a warrant for his arrest on March 17.
Day of Action Sees Kelley Caught in the Act
Just four days later, police on proactive patrol spotted Kelley wandering the city centre. Cops swooped on Clumber Street and hauled the no fixed address crook straight back to prison.

Multiple Arrests Shake Up Nottingham Streets
- A 45-year-old man was arrested on Milton Street for threatening and abusive behaviour.
- On Station Street, a 36-year-old dodger was arrested for missing a court date over begging charges — cops also found a pair of scissors and hit him with possession of a bladed article.
- A 63-year-old was nabbed on St Ann’s Well Road for assaulting a Community Protection Officer and resisting arrest.
- Six others were caught with illegal drugs during the crackdown.
Police Vow to Keep Pressure On Crime
Sergeant Richard Tiernan, City Centre neighbourhood policing team, said: “It was another successful day of action with plenty of activity. In total, there were 35 interactions with people including four arrests, 15 stop/searches and two begging warnings issued.”
“We’ll keep up these proactive patrols to clamp down on crime. If anyone has concerns in the city centre, please contact us on 101 or speak to officers on patrol,” he added.
