Elderly Man Dies After Brawl in Busy High Street

Police launched an urgent probe after a 74-year-old man was rushed to Worthing Hospital with a serious head injury. Despite doctors’ efforts, Ernest Harrison sadly died on Tuesday, 17 October.

Violent Clash in Busy High Street

Detective Inspector Debbie Birch revealed the injury likely happened during a fight between 6pm and 7pm on Friday, 6 October, near Kamsons Pharmacy and Sweet Dreams & Bubbles shop.

“We believe he was involved in an altercation in High Street between 6pm and 7pm on Friday 6 October,” said DI Birch. “The area was busy, and we’re urging witnesses to come forward.”

Two Teenagers Arrested and Released on Bail

A 21-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were initially arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. Both have now been re-arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. They are currently out on bail with strict conditions.
