Pervert Busted with Over 400 Sick Child Abuse Images in Colchester Raid
Brian Wood was arrested after a police raid at his Winsley Road, Colchester home on 19 November last year. Officers from the Police Online Investigation Team (POLIT) swooped following reports that his internet was used to access indecent images of children.
Disturbing Discovery on Mobile Phone
During the search, police seized Wood’s mobile phone. They uncovered a horrific stash of over 400 indecent images and videos, including some Wood appeared to have taken himself. All the children involved have now been identified.
Serial Predator Sent Down for 5 Years
Wood, 28, of Goodway Gardens, London E14, was arrested and charged with possession and making indecent images of children, attempting to distribute these vile images, voyeurism, and sexual activity with a child.
He pleaded guilty on 28 July and was sentenced on 23 October at Ipswich Crown Court to five years and four months behind bars.
Police Praise Teamwork in Catching ‘Dangerous Predator’
“Brian Wood is a dangerous sexual predator who poses a very real risk to children,” said Detective Constable Mark Peacock from the Child Abuse Investigation Team.
“He even claimed during interview to be a paedophile hunter trying to expose abusers. Thankfully, excellent work by POLIT uncovered his true motives.”
