Craig Helps, 32, from Staple Hill, Bristol, has pleaded guilty to trying to chat up a female child online—except the “kid” wasn’t real.
Pretending to Be a Teen, Helps Sends Shocking Pics
In March 2019, Helps reached out on a fake profile as “Craig Shane,” believing he was talking to a 13-year-old schoolgirl. He sent explicit photos of his erect penis and porn videos, firing off graphic questions like, “Have you ever been fucked?”
But the schoolgirl was actually a member of the paedophile-hunting group UK Database.
Confronted at Parents’ Home After Aggressive Messages
Helps’ aggressive and sexually demanding behaviour prompted the team to confront him at his parents’ house in Staple Hill. When caught, he admitted to sending the racy messages and images.
“No, I did it just for banter,” Helps claimed when asked if he was attracted to children.
Despite his excuses, the messages clearly aimed to entice the child into sexual activity.
