Police Officer PC Adnan Ali Charged with Multiple Sexual and Corruption Offences
In a shocking development, PC Adnan Ali, a 34-year-old officer from Trafford, has been charged with multiple serious offences, including sexual assault and corruption. The charges come after a lengthy investigation launched back in October 2018.
Timeline of Arrests and Investigations
- October 2018: PC Ali first arrested on suspicion of police corruption linked to abuse of position for sexual purposes.
- November 2018: Re-arrested on suspicion of corruption and sexual assault.
- March 2019: Arrested again over allegations of sexual assault, misconduct in public office, and distributing an indecent image.
- August 2019: Investigation completed and evidence passed to Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
Charges and Court Appearance
On Friday 16 July, PC Ali was officially charged with:
- 15 counts of misconduct in public office
- Five counts of sexual assault
- Distribution of an indecent image of a child
He is set to appear before Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on 5 August 2021.
