Met Police Slam Extinction Rebellion with 9pm Curfew
The Met has ordered Extinction Rebellion protesters to pack up and quit by 9pm on Monday, 14 October 2019. Citing the Public Order Act 1986, officers demanded all XR ‘Autumn Uprising’ protests across central London, including the City, must end immediately.
Protesters Given Warning – Defy It and Face Arrest
Demonstrators have been officially notified and told to clear the sites. Anyone caught ignoring the order risks arrest and legal action, police warned.

“We have made significant progress managing Extinction Rebellion at sites across central London this past week.”
“Officers have now started clearing Trafalgar Square to restore normality.”
“Today, protestors hit the City of London, causing further chaos for workers and businesses in the financial district.”
Policing Operation Rolls on with Over 1,400 Arrests
Police have made more than 90 arrests just today, adding to a total of over 1,400 since the protests erupted. Many have already been charged.
“Our officers have been working round the clock to keep London moving,” the Deputy Assistant Commissioner added. “We will continue cracking down hard on unlawful protests linked to Extinction Rebellion across targeted locations.”
