Boiling Water Attack Duo Jailed After Savage Two-Hour Assault
A violent couple who drenched a man in boiling water during a brutal two-hour rampage have been locked up for their savage crime.
Relentless Attack Over Cash Demand
Blu Wright, 30, and Tegan Hawley, 37, launched the shocking assault at an Eastwood home last June. The victim was socialising with the pair when they suddenly turned violent, battering him with anything to hand — including a pole, a speaker, and a vase.
Not stopping there, Wright and Hawley repeatedly punched the man’s face before pouring boiling water over his arm and demanding cash.
Gruesome Injuries and Quick Police Action
The victim suffered a fractured eye socket, multiple facial injuries, and severe burns from the scalding water.
Police swiftly identified Wright and Hawley. Both pled guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent at their November court hearing.
Wright also admitted separate charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray from a 2022 Derbyshire attack.
Hard Hitting Jail Sentences Delivered
On Thursday, 19 March, Nottingham Crown Court handed down tough sentences. Wright, from Comet Drive, Eastwood, was locked up for eight years and nine months. Hawley, of Cromford Road, Langley Mill, got four-and-a-half years behind bars.
Justice served for a heinous crime that left its victim with lasting scars.
