Four Jailed Over Wirral Shooting Drama

Detectives from the Firearms Investigation Team have welcomed the sentencing of four individuals to a combined 14 years in prison. The case relates to a shotgun shooting in Wallasey, Wirral, back in 2021.

Gunfire Rocks Percy Road

On the night of October 29, 2021, just after 10pm, a man jumped out of a VW Golf and fired a shotgun at a house on Percy Road. Thankfully, no one was injured, though the property suffered damage. Police later recovered the shotgun at a Birkenhead address in February 2022.

The Culprits and Their Sentences

  • John Bromilow, 28, from Whetstone Lane, Birkenhead, was handed six years and three months for conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to cause fear.
  • Paul Price, 43, of no fixed abode, got five years and 10 months. Price helped plan the shooting, drove Bromilow to the scene, and then to Ellesmere Port to dodge police.
  • Chantae Campbell, 21, from Bridge Street, Birkenhead, received 15 months for conspired possession of a shotgun without a certificate. She helped store the weapon.
  • Tiegan Dutton, 24, of Alexandra Road, Birkenhead, also got 15 months for letting the shotgun be stored at her home.

Police Warn: No Tolerance for Firearms Crime

Detective Sergeant Joe Myers said: “It is pleasing to see Bromilow and his accomplices jailed today for the storage, movement and use of a firearm on the streets of Wallasey.“

“By sheer luck, no one was hurt. Gun crime devastates Wirral and Merseyside. We will pursue offenders relentlessly. Bromilow is a dangerous individual now off the streets, making Merseyside safer.”

“This sentence sends a clear message – anyone involved in firearms crime will face court, whatever their role.”

“If you have information on gun storage, movement or usage, come forward via Crimestoppers. Your tip could save lives and clean up communities.”
