£1 Million Worth of Drugs Busted in Midlothian

Police have smashed a major drug operation in Midlothian, seizing controlled substances with an estimated street value of over £1 million. Two men have been arrested and charged following the raid.

Danderhall Den Raided Over Diazepam Production

On Tuesday, September 12, officers targeted a Danderhall property linked to illegal drug production and distribution. Inside, they found a pill press and around 900,000 diazepam tablets ready for sale.

Other powder substances were also recovered and are undergoing forensic testing to identify them.

Two Men Charged and Due in Court

The men, aged 42 and 60, were caught red-handed and charged. They will face Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, September 14.

Detective Warns: Crime Syndicate Crushed

“Officers uncovered a sophisticated criminal enterprise believed to have been producing vast quantities of illegal drugs. We have successfully seized a significant quantity of drugs and the means to produce more,” said Detective Chief Inspector Bryan Burns.

He added that police remain dedicated to clearing communities of harmful drugs and will use the Proceeds of Crime Act to strip criminals of their illegal profits.
