Big Drug Bust Hits Swindon Crime Gang
Officers from the newly rebranded Specialist Crime Unit swooped on two addresses in Swindon as part of a major crackdown on an organised crime group. The gang is suspected of flooding the town with class A drugs.
£100,000 Worth of Drugs Seized
During the raids, cops seized over £100,000 worth of what’s believed to be cocaine and heroin, along with a haul of cash. A 27-year-old man from Nechells, Birmingham, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
Police Crackdown Across County Borders
“This was a really significant seizure in the fight against drugs,” said Detective Inspector Rab Macleod of SOCU. “Seizing in excess of £100,000 worth of class A drugs will no doubt hit the supply chain hard.”
“We’re committed to tackling class A drug supply in Swindon. No matter where you live, county borders don’t protect you from our investigations. We will keep going after those who fuel this dangerous trade.”
The arrested man is currently being held at Gablecross police station for questioning as the investigation continues.
