Hastings Man Busted for Shocking Assault and Sexual Attack in Town Centre
Woman Attacked on Busy Robertson Street
Patrick Doran, 41, from Robertson Terrace, Hastings, was arrested after a brazen assault and sexual attack on a woman in Hastings town centre. The incident unfolded around 5.25pm on Wednesday, January 17, right on Robertson Street.
Initially reported as a fight between a man and woman, police arrived to find the victim badly shaken and the suspect nowhere in sight. The woman bravely reported she had also been sexually assaulted by Doran.
Police Hunt Leads to Quick Arrest
Officers launched an immediate search of the area and soon caught up with Doran. He was charged with assault and sexual assault by touching.
Magistrates’ Court Holds Doran on Custody
Doran faced Hastings Magistrates’ Court on January 20, where he was remanded in custody. His next hearing is scheduled for February 16 at Lewes Crown Court, where he will stand trial on the serious charges.
