Man Charged with Manslaughter After Fatal Biff at Butlin’s Bognor

A 32-year-old man has been slapped with manslaughter charges over the death of a holidaymaker at Butlin’s, Bognor Regis. The incident unfolded on June 14 last year when cops were called to reports of an assault at the popular seaside resort.

Holiday Punch Proves Deadly

Michael Loughlin, 52, from Barton-le-Clay, Bedford, took a savage punch to the head during the fracas. He later died of his injuries at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

Suspect to Face Court

Billy Mongey, 32, of Tooting Grove, Wandsworth, is set to answer the charge at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 14 May.
