East London Man Charged Over Terror Material
Shehroz Iqbal, 29, from East London, has been charged with disseminating terrorist material. The charge comes under section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Arrest and Court Appearance
The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command arrested Iqbal on Monday, 6 April. He was held at an East London police station at around 5pm under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
Iqbal was remanded and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 8 April.
Police Action and Investigation
Officers completed a search of an East London address linked to the investigation following the arrest.
