A dramatic police car chase in Orpington ended with a passenger hurt and rushed to hospital. The incident unfolded just after 9am on Wednesday, April 26, when police spotted a suspicious vehicle and gave chase.
Passenger Hurt Trying to Flee
The passenger, a 30-year-old man, tried to escape by jumping out of the moving car but was injured in the attempt. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service quickly arrived and took him to hospital. His current condition remains unknown.
Driver Arrested on Multiple Charges
The 37-year-old driver was arrested at the scene. Police charged him with failing to stop for officers and dangerous driving. He is now in police custody awaiting further action.
At around 9:12am on Wednesday, April 26th, police pursued a vehicle in the Orpington area,” said a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police. “The passenger, a man in his 30s, tried to flee but was injured as he attempted to exit the car. The London Ambulance Service took him to hospital; we are awaiting an update on his health. The 37-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police and dangerous driving. He has been taken into police custody.”
