Southampton Man Slapped With 11-Year Sentence for Brutal Attacks on Sex Workers
A 54-year-old man has been handed an 11-year extended sentence for vicious assaults on sex workers in Southampton. Everton Fyffe, of Southcliff Road, was sentenced today, 12 May, at Southampton Crown Court after being found guilty of multiple offences.
Triple Assault, Knife Threat and False Imprisonment
Fyffe was convicted of three counts of actual bodily harm (ABH), possession and threatening with an offensive weapon, and false imprisonment after an 11-day trial. The horrific attacks took place between July and December 2020.
- July 4, 2020: Fyffe attacked a 40-year-old woman on Parsonage Road, punching her, stamping on her, and waving a knife to threaten her.
- September 23, 2020: He pushed a 37-year-old woman to the ground on Cranbury Terrace, stamped on her head, forced her into his car, and continued to assault her.
- December 6, 2020: Fyffe assaulted a 43-year-old woman on a footbridge over Mount Pleasant Road with his fold-up push bike.
Justice Served After Jury Sees Through His Lies
Judge sentenced Fyffe to six years in prison plus an extended five-year licence. Detective Constable Mark Gallagher praised the conviction: “These were unprovoked, violent attacks on three vulnerable women. Fyffe tried to paint himself as the victim, but the jury saw through his lies and convicted him on all counts.”
PC Sue Badham added: “Fyffe targeted vulnerable women, thinking they wouldn’t report him. He was wrong. The bravery of these women helped bring him to justice.”
