Predatory Paedo Jailed for Two Years After Targeting 10-Year-Old Girl

A man who preyed on girls as young as ten has been caged for over two years following a chilling child sex abuse trial at Southampton Crown Court.

Paul Wright’s Sick Crimes Revealed

Paul Wright, 46, from Hindhead, Surrey, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a girl under 13. The offences happened in August 2020 near Winchester, where Wright was known to the victim’s family.

The jury heard Wright sent the 10-year-old victim a barrage of inappropriate messages that swiftly turned sexual. He also requested explicit images of the child and created a fake social media account to secretly communicate and avoid detection.

Justice Served After Jury Verdict

Wright pleaded not guilty at an earlier hearing but was convicted at a three-day trial in August 2024. On October 8, he was sentenced to two years and four months behind bars.

The judge slapped a 20-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order on him and ordered him to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for two decades.

Police Praise Victim’s Courage

“Paul Wright betrayed the trust of a family who had no idea he was a registered sex offender,” said PC Kallum Sillence from Hampshire & Isle of Wight CAIT.

“Had they known, they never would have allowed contact. Thanks to the victim’s bravery in speaking out, we delivered justice and hope she can start healing.”
