Man Charged with Murder of 70-Year-Old Woman in Kensington
A 57-year-old man from Kensington Park Gardens has been charged with the murder of Rita Fleming, 70. Clifford Cowen is set to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court this Friday, accused of fatally killing the elderly woman.
Body Found After Police Called to Golborne Road
Police were called to an address on Golborne Road, W10, on Sunday, 23 June, where they discovered the body of Ms Fleming. Officers quickly launched a murder investigation. Authorities are now supporting the victim’s family, with specially trained officers providing ongoing assistance during this difficult time.
Cowen Initially Released on Bail, Then Charged
Cowen was arrested the same day the body was found. He was released on bail pending further inquiries but was formally charged on Thursday, 4 July, following extensive police work. The case remains under tight wraps, but police confirm Cowen and the victim knew each other.
