Drug Dealers Busted with Kilo of Cocaine and Cannabis Farm in Essex
Two men have been locked up after police swooped on a major drug bust in Essex last September.
Cops Nab Cocaine and Cannabis in Twin Raids
On Thursday, September 23, at 12:50pm, officers from the Operational Support Group stopped Denis Truma on the A1013 Stanford Road near Grays. Shortly after, police also detained Robert Golding in a pub car park nearby.
A search of Golding’s car uncovered a massive 1.5kg block of cocaine hidden in a carrier bag on the front footwell. He was promptly arrested for possession with intent to supply. Further searches at Golding’s home revealed 22 cannabis plants growing in an outbuilding.
Truma’s vehicle search found two mobile phones, and at his home in Chafford Hundred, police uncovered a staggering £35,000 stashed inside a shoebox.
Busted and Charged: Jail Time Looms
- Denis Truma, 28, faces charges for cocaine supply and possession of criminal property.
- Robert Golding, 45, was charged with cocaine possession with intent to supply and cannabis cultivation.
Both men were remanded in custody and appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on September 25, 2021. They later pleaded guilty to all charges.
Sentenced at Basildon Crown Court
On Friday, June 10, Basildon Crown Court handed down prison terms:
- Denis Truma got three years and ten months for drug supply plus seven months concurrently for criminal property possession.
- Robert Golding was jailed for three years and four months for possession with intent to supply and four months concurrently for cannabis production.
“This was a significant investigation that resulted in the seizure of a large amount of drugs before they could reach the streets,” said Detective Inspector Yoni Adler, who led the probe.
“Drugs are not welcome in Essex. We’ll use every tool to put dealers like Truma and Golding behind bars. Our neighbourhoods are a little safer now that these criminals can no longer peddle their wares.”
