Eastbourne Man Busted in Bold Burglary Sting

Quick-Thinking Cops Spot Suspect Red-Handed

Police patrolling Eastbourne town centre spotted a man sneaking into a South Street home at around 6.30pm on March 10. Seconds later, a torch flicked on inside the property for about a minute before the man slipped out.

Cash Stolen, Suspect Nabbed

The homeowner returned later that evening to find cash missing. Officers soon arrested Darrell Owen, 52, unemployed, from Howard Square, Eastbourne. He’s now charged with burglary and theft.

Next Stop: Lewes Crown Court

Owen faced Brighton Magistrates’ Court on April 18. He was remanded in custody and will appear at Lewes Crown Court on May 15.
