Man Arrested After Shocking Wildlife and Dog Injuries in Richmondshire

Police swooped in Richmondshire after finding a man with three injured dogs — one critically hurt with deep neck cuts. The dogs were immediately taken into custody and treated by an RSPCA vet.

Officers from the Richmondshire Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a thorough search and uncovered a disturbed badger set and a dead badger at the scene.

Suspect in His 20s Bailed After Multiple Charges

The man was arrested on suspicion of a wildlife offence, breaching a dog control order, and stealing a cellphone. After questioning, he was released on bail while investigations continue.

Police confirmed the three injured dogs were not returned to the suspect and are now in good hands receiving care.
