Portsmouth’s Gary Saunders Locked Up Again After ASBO Breach
Gary Saunders, 57, a notorious Portsmouth troublemaker, is back behind bars. The Portland Street local was sentenced to eight weeks at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court for breaking his ASBO yet again.
Repeated ASBO Breaches Land Saunders in Jail
Saunders was surprisingly let off last May despite breaking the same ASBO three times. That leniency didn’t last long. On 25th July, he was found guilty of causing harassment, alarm, and distress, leading to his current jail term.
Multiple Crimes and Jail Time
- Stole £11.48 worth of food from a Southsea Co-op on 27th June – received 4 weeks concurrent jail.
- Failed to surrender to custody on 15th August.
- Breached conditional discharge for theft of perfume from Boots (27th April) and bike theft (18th May) – two separate 4-week concurrent sentences.
- Caught driving without a licence or insurance in Cottage View on 8th August.
Criminal Record Like No Other
Saunders’ criminal history is shockingly long, with nearly 300 offences on record. He’s known for bullying and intimidating Portsmouth locals, forcing them to hand over money and goods.
Last October, Portsmouth Coroner’s Court linked Saunders to the suspicious death of Christina Jewell in Somerstown’s Handsworth House. Despite this dark shadow, the thug is set to be released mid-September after serving half his sentence.
