Predator Locked Up for Nearly 12 Years
Sol Barrett, 24, has been slammed with an 11-year and 8-month prison sentence for raping and sexually abusing vulnerable teenage girls. The shocking crimes came to light during his hearing at Lewes Crown Court on August 7, where he admitted guilt.
Chilling Details of the Crimes
Barrett exploited young victims with cold calculation. The court heard how he preyed on a teenage girl assaulted on June 17, 2022. Instead of helping her seek medical care, Barrett took her to his Crawley home and raped her while she was unconscious. She woke up with no memory of what happened. Specially trained officers provided vital support to the victim.
In a second horrific case on December 18, 2022, Barrett used social media to groom another teenage girl, lying about his age to facilitate sexual offences. The victim’s mother reported the abuse, leading to Barrett’s arrest.
Harsh Sentence and Lifetime Sex Offender Status
- 7 years and 2 months for rape
- 4 years and 6 months concurrently for three counts of sexual activity with a child
