Road Shut in Andover After Man Found Slumped in Gutter

Police shut down Redon Way in Andover last night after a man was found injured in the gutter. Two police cars sealed off the scene, forcing traffic to detour as officers launched an investigation near Artisis Way.

Local Resident Raises Alarm

Shady Nazr, a mum of two, stumbled across the injured man and called the police. She told us, “Many people drove past while the poor guy was laying on the side of the road! One motorist stopped to help, but most just carried on with their business.”

23-Year-Old Taken to Hospital with Injuries

The victim, aged 23, was rushed to North Hampshire Hospital with multiple injuries. The incident took place just before 9pm on Thursday, 8 October. Police kept the road closed for around an hour as they worked.

Police Say Incident Not Suspicious

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the circumstances in a statement: “We were called to Redon Way shortly before 9pm last night after a man was found injured on the pavement. The 23-year-old was taken to hospital with multiple injuries. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”

Heavy Police Presence at Scene

Andover Police tweeted about the road closure in both directions last night. Social media posts showed several police cars at the scene, including two parked by the bridge overlooking the road.
