South London’s courts have hammered down tough sentences this June 2025. From deadly crashes to vicious assaults, men behind terrifying crimes across Bexley, Welling, Nine Elms, Clapham, and Bermondsey are now behind bars. Here’s the lowdown on the latest jail terms.
Bus Driver Who Killed 9-Year-Old Girl Jailed
Martin Asolo-Agogua, 23, from Nunhead, has been locked up for four years after falling asleep at the wheel and crushing nine-year-old Ada Bicacki under his double-decker bus in Bexleyheath.
The fatal crash happened on August 3, 2024. Asolo-Agogua arrived for his shift after a night partying and using cannabis, visibly exhausted but still took the wheel. His bus mounted the pavement on Watling Street, tragically hitting Ada and nearly striking her younger brother.
“Losing Ada has shattered our family,” her relatives said in a heartbreaking statement.
Ex-Killer Ben Worden Jailed Again for Child Sex Crimes
Ben Worden, 46, from Welling, already a convicted manslaughter offender, is back behind bars for preying on children online — well, paedophile hunter decoys posing as kids.
Even after being told the “children’s” ages, Worden sent explicit videos and messages. He’s now caged for three years and four months.
Battersea Murderer Gets Life for Stabbing
Earl Morin-Briton, 36, from Sutton, was sentenced to life with a minimum of 27 years for the unprovoked stabbing murder of Theo Porteous in a Nine Elms car park.
The victim was sitting in his car when Morin-Briton approached and stabbed him three times. Emergency services couldn’t save Theo, who died at the scene.
Clapham Machete Attack: Gang Violence Leads to Jail
Nino-Tai Smith, 23, from Nine Elms, used a stolen Mercedes to ram a moped rider in Cedars Road before hacking him with a machete. The victim suffered life-altering injuries.
Smith fled but was caught two days later on the Patmore Estate, where police also found a discarded firearm. He was sentenced to over seven years for the brutal gang-related assault.
Bermondsey Drug Dealer’s Hairdresser Cover Blown
Babutunde Ososipe, 31, of Bermondsey, tried to mask a county lines drug empire as a hairdresser and music manager while pushing cocaine, MDMA, ketamine, Xanax, and more in Tonbridge.
Police busted him in November 2024 after intercepting bulk marketing messages. In the raid, officers seized drugs, cash, designer goods, and even a bullet.
Ososipe was jailed for five years and 10 months.
