Today, Reeves was sentenced to life behind bars for the savage attack.
Ceremonial Dagger Used in Grisly Double Murder
Reeves mercilessly stabbed neighbours Jennifer, 33, and Stephen, 36, multiple times with a ceremonial military dagger. Their young children were asleep upstairs during the horrific attack.
The killing came just after Reeves’ wife told him she wanted a trial separation. The violence followed a bitter dispute with the victims over parking spaces outside their homes.
Family Mourners Deliver Heartbreaking Statements
Six family members of Jennifer and Stephen gave tearful statements in court detailing the devastating impact of their deaths. The judge condemned Reeves’ actions as “unprovoked and unjustified.”
“This murderous behaviour left two children orphaned, causing them lifelong harm,” said Mr Justice Garnham.
Detective Inspector Neil Meade, the lead investigator, added: “They were adoring parents who deserved nothing bad to happen to them. I doubt anyone can read these statements and not be deeply moved.”
He praised the families for their “great courage and dignity” during the investigation and hopes they can begin to rebuild their lives now the court case has ended.
