Wandsworth Drug Dealer Busted in EncroChat Sting
Helios Nanaj, 37, of Smugglers Way, Wandsworth, has been found guilty of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and drug importation. The London man’s arrest follows a massive police crackdown on organised crime.
Encrypted Chat Hack Cracks the Case
Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit nailed Nanaj after data from Operation Venetic surfaced. The international probe took down EncroChat — a secret messaging app used by crooks to plan crimes undetected.
Encoded devices like Nanaj’s were thought untouchable, but law enforcement hacked the system, exposing the villain’s encrypted chats.
‘Boboku’ Exposed: Personal Links Seal Nanaj’s Fate
Nanaj used the username ‘Boboku’ on EncroChat, promoting himself as a regional cocaine supplier and importer. Police revealed ‘Boboku’ was also the nickname he used affectionately for his five-year-old son, whose photos were found on the device plus birthday messages from the ‘Nanaj family’.
Forensics further linked two phones to him using cell-site analysis, matching connections near his Wandsworth home and on the road, confirmed by ANPR camera evidence.
Guilty Verdict Delivered – Sentencing Looms
On Thursday 7 December, Nanaj was convicted of four counts of conspiring to supply Class A drugs and breaching customs laws at Gloucester Crown Court. He faces sentencing on Thursday 14 December. Police hail the result as a victory against organised drug crime.
