Brutal Stabbing Murder Rocks Greenstead
Alinjavwa Siwale, 22, was found fatally stabbed at an Affleck Road address just after midnight on Friday 11 December last year. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene, suffering multiple stab wounds.
Second Victim Fights for Life
A second man at the property was also stabbed but managed to escape by jumping over a neighbour’s fence to get help. He was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Quick Police Response Leads to Arrests
- Police found the front door forced open when they arrived.
- At 3am, a resident on Teal Close reported someone knocking at their back door for hours.
- Dog Unit officer caught 25-year-old Sheldon McKay in the garden, bloodstained and arrested him for murder.
- Forensic tests linked McKay’s clothing to Alinjavwa’s DNA.
- Further investigation led to arrest of 20-year-old Phoenix Lee.
Guilty Verdict After Trial
Both men, with no fixed address, faced charges of murder and grievous bodily harm with intent. Despite denying involvement, they were found guilty on all counts at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday 7 September.
CCTV showed the pair forcing the front door open around 12:12am. Minutes later, the second victim left to seek help, while Alinjavwa lay fatally wounded inside.
Sentencing is set for 11 October. Justice is closing in on these violent killers.
