Violent Drug Dealer Busted in Eastbourne Gets 5½ Years Behind Bars

Adrian Pendley Caught with Class A Drugs

Adrian Pendley, 34, a known violent drug dealer with no fixed address, has been sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison after police nabbed him in Eastbourne. Officers found him with a stash of Class A drugs and a mobile phone during a search at a local property. Despite his claims of being framed, Pendley was charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

County Lines Operation Using Vulnerable Victims

Pendley was arrested at the home of a vulnerable individual he’d been exploiting as part of a County Lines drug operation, a tactic known as cuckooing. This method involves urban gangs pushing drugs into smaller towns via mobile phone networks. Vulnerable people, including kids and those struggling with mental health or addiction problems, are often forced or coerced to handle the dirty work of distribution.

Project ADDER Cracks Down on Drug Crime

The arrest came under the spotlight of Project ADDER (Addiction, Diversion, Disruption, Enforcement and Recovery), launched by the Home Office in 2021 to slash drug-related crime and shield communities. Over 600 organised crime groups have been smashed nationally, resulting in nearly 10,500 arrests and £3.5 million seized across England and Wales. More than 13,000 addicts have been helped through treatment and outreach.

Police Praise and Public Urged to Report Suspicious Activity

Chief Inspector Di Lewis of Eastbourne police praised officers for their swift action, saying, “This sentence reflects the damage drugs wreak in our community and protects residents from a dangerous and intimidating offender.” Sussex Police urge anyone with drug intelligence or suspecting cuckooed properties to report via their website or by calling 101. For emergencies, dial 999. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
