Cop Hit in Ashford Hit-and-Run – Driver Flees Scene

Police are hunting witnesses after a shocking collision involving a police officer and a fleeing car in Ashford. The crash happened at around 3:16pm on Friday, January 26, 2024, on Coulter Road near Hedgers Way.

Officer Seriously Injured While on Duty

The officer was on foot conducting speed checks when the silver Vauxhall 123 smashed into him. He suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where he remains under observation.

Suspect Arrested but Released on Bail

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate quickly detained a 19-year-old local man in connection with the crash. However, he has since been released on bail as investigations continue.
