Woman charged over businessman’s murder in Dorset
A woman has been charged in connection with the shocking murder of businessman Guy Hedger, shot dead in his Dorset home.
Helen Cooper accused of helping offender
Helen Cooper, also known as Helen Keeping, 40, from Poole, faces charges of assisting an offender linked to the killing of Mr Hedger. She is set to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court this Wednesday.
Mr Hedger, 61, was fatally shot after at least two intruders broke into his St Ives home near Ringwood in the early hours of April 30. His husband, Simon-Pierre Hedger-Cooper, 48, was also at the property during the attack.
Three men charged with murder
Three men – Jason Baccus, 41, and Scott Keeping, 44, from Bournemouth, and Kevin Downton, 40, of Winterborne Stickland – have been charged with the murder of the insurance executive. They will appear at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday.
Two other men, aged 39 and 45 from Bournemouth and Poole respectively, were arrested but have since been released under investigation.
£10,000 reward for stolen items and shotgun
Crimestoppers has launched a £10,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of a shotgun used in the murder and valuable jewellery reported stolen from the Hedger home.
Among the missing items are:
- Diamond wedding rings
- Emerald and diamond ring
- Diamond Cartier watch
- Black onyx ring
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Derbyshire, who is heading the investigation, said:
“While three men have been charged with Guy’s murder, our investigations continue, including the recovery of the firearm and stolen items. The independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers has issued this £10,000 reward for information and I am very grateful for their support.”
