Knife thug punches victim in brazen Bridgeway Centre robbery

A man was threatened with a knife and punched in the face after a shocking confrontation near the Bridgeway Centre, The Meadows, at around 3.30pm on Monday 5 December 2022.
The attacker grabbed the victim by the neck and tried to snatch a plastic bag containing medication.
Medication stolen as victim left shaken
During the struggle, the contents of the bag spilled onto the pavement. The robber then grabbed a box of medication before fleeing on foot towards nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham railway station.
Quick arrest by Nottinghamshire Police
Police arrived swiftly and spotted a suspect matching the description in nearby Albert Street. The 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Detective Sergeant Franco Guddemi said: “This was a nasty street robbery and the victim is understandably shaken up after such an unpleasant incident.
“Officers responded to the robbery immediately and I am pleased they quickly caught up with a suspect.
“The force will never tolerate this sort of violence and offenders can expect a robust response to any report of a street robbery.”
