Chaos in Birmingham: Two Dogs Attack Passersby Near School

Two dogs went on a terrifying rampage in Birmingham’s Winson Green, randomly attacking six people, including an elderly man. The shocking incident near Barford Primary School left children trapped inside for over an hour as police scrambled to bring the situation under control.

Children Held Inside as Police Hunt Dangerous Dogs

Parents were warned via a chilling text that the “likelihood is the dogs will kill a human.” Authorities urged families to stay in their cars and keep children indoors while officers worked to contain the threat. None of the injuries were life-threatening, but one elderly man was rushed to hospital after sustaining multiple bite wounds.

“We have just been informed by police that there are two potentially very dangerous dogs circling the school,”

the urgent message to parents read. It added: “On the advice of the police, we will not be dismissing any children at their usual time… we will keep them safe in the school hall until we have heard it is safe to release them.”

Man Arrested Over ‘Dangerously Out-of-Control’ Dogs

West Midlands Police arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of possessing dangerously out-of-control dogs. Officers seized the two animals and took them to a nearby kennel. A police spokeswoman confirmed:

“We were called to Willow Gardens, Winson Green, just after 2.30pm after reports two dogs were loose and attacking people. Six victims, including an elderly man, were hospitalised with bite injuries. All are expected to recover.”
