Officer Struck by Car During Pursuit

A Metropolitan Police officer chasing a suspect on foot in Bexleyheath was hit by a car. The incident happened just before noon on Thursday, February 13, near Mayplace Road West. The officer was pursuing a suspect when they collided with a vehicle unrelated to the original incident.

Suspect Arrested for Domestic Assault

Police were initially called over concerns for a woman’s safety. A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of domestic common assault. Details about the suspect or the initial call remain under wraps.

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed the officer’s injuries are non-life-threatening or life-changing. They said:

“Yesterday, one of our officers was taken to hospital following a collision in Bexleyheath during a foot pursuit. We wish our colleague a swift recovery.”
