17-Year-Old TJ Dies in Early Morning Stabbing
Trust Junior Jordan Gangata, 17, known as TJ, was fatally stabbed during a house party in Leeds. The horrific attack happened in the early hours of Sunday on Salisbury Grove, Armley.
Four Arrested Over Murder
Police have detained four men on suspicion of murdering TJ. Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Alan Weekes said, “Trust’s family are going through an incredibly difficult time, and we have specially trained family liaison officers supporting them.”
“Trust’s family has asked for privacy as they try to come to terms with having him taken from them in such abrupt and violent circumstances.”
Investigation Underway – Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Police were called to the home around 2.45 a.m. after reports of a disturbance. Ambulance crews arrived following a stabbing call, but TJ later died in hospital.
Det Ch Insp Weekes added, “We continue to appeal for anyone who was at the party or has any information to come forward and assist our investigation.”
Tributes Pour In from School and Friends
Notre Dame Sixth Form College described Trust as “friendly, sociable, and kind” with a positive presence in class. Staff and students were “devastated” by the loss.
Friends remembered TJ as “hardworking, funny, and loyal” – a role model who “always had a smile on his face.”
