Tragic Death of PC Matt Lannie Shakes Sheffield
Police have confirmed the heartbreaking death of PC Matt Lannie, who died on duty after a collision in Sheffield’s Ecclesfield area on 21 April.

Chief Constable Stephen Watson QPM paid an emotional tribute today: “It is with great sadness that we pay tribute to PC Matt Lannie, who died in the line of duty.”
He added, “Dreadful events like this remind us of the huge dangers police face every day to keep us safe.”
PC Lannie was a specialist motorcycle officer in the roads policing unit and previously served as a response officer in Sheffield. He was widely respected and loved by his colleagues.
