Rosie Johnson Search Update: Police Say No Crime Suspected
Police and rescuers on the Isle of Wight continue their desperate search for missing Rosie Johnson. But officers involved have confirmed she is not believed to be a victim of any crime.
Helicopter Scours Last Known Spot
A police helicopter conducted an extensive aerial sweep on Wednesday, focusing on Firestone Copse Forest, the Lakeside Hotel, and Wootton Creek — the last place Rosie was seen before she vanished on Sunday evening.
Inspector Keeps Tight-Lipped on Her Whereabouts
Hampshire Constabulary Inspector Andy MacDonald refused to say if Rosie was still alive. He told reporters, “At this moment in time, the information we have available to us says Rosie has not been the victim of crime.”
He added, “I’m not in a position at this moment to tell you what her state of mind was on Sunday evening. We currently do not know her whereabouts and are seriously concerned for her welfare.”
Search to Resume as Family Holds Out Hope
Coastguard teams examined the mudflats at Wootton Creek and further ground searches have scoured the surrounding area. Rosie’s family, supported by police, have joined the effort but have not revealed who last saw her.
Search and rescue group WightSAR will continue combing local woods and fields near Lakeside from Thursday morning after poor visibility forced them to stop on Wednesday evening.
The hunt goes on, with hope still alive that Rosie remains somewhere on the Isle of Wight.
