Woman Assaulted After Leaving Train Station
Just after midnight on Saturday, September 16, a woman faced a terrifying ordeal outside High Brooms train station. A stranger reportedly approached her, made unwanted advances, and then followed her on foot, before attacking her inside a nearby property.
Man Arrested in Connection With Attack
The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate took charge of the investigation. On Wednesday, September 20, police arrested a 32-year-old man from Belvedere, Greater London, on suspicion of rape. He was taken into custody for questioning.
Suspect Released on Conditional Bail
The man was later granted conditional bail while inquiries continue. He must return to a police station on December 19 as the investigation presses on.
