E-Fit Released After Woman Attacked on Gosport Cycle Path
Police want to speak to a man after a 33-year-old woman was attacked while out running in Gosport.
Attack on Quiet Cycle Path
At around 7pm on Tuesday, November 29, the victim was running along the cycle path between Alecto Road and Alver Creek when an unknown man approached her. He pushed her to the ground and grabbed her wrists. The woman fought back and managed to escape.
She suffered bruises but no serious injuries.
Man’s E-Fit Released
Police have released an e-fit of the suspect, described as:
- White male in his 40s
- Thin face, dark hair with stubble
- Wearing black clothes, including a knee-length coat
- Smelled “odd” and made grunting noises instead of speaking
Detective Constable Charlie Cox said, “We’re not linking this attack to other reports, but we want to find this man to get to the bottom of what happened.”
He added, “Thankfully the woman wasn’t seriously hurt, but we urge people using local cycle paths, especially unlit ones at night, to stay alert.”
