Gunman in Kingstanding Opens Fire at Police
Armed officers have arrested a man after shots were fired at police during a routine patrol in Kingstanding.
Suspicious Behaviour Sparks Chaos on Twickenham Road
Just before midnight on Monday 3 April, officers spotted a man acting suspiciously on Twickenham Road. When they attempted to stop and search him, he fled—and allegedly pulled a gun, firing at the officers.
Lockdown and Arrest Follow Shooting
- No injuries were reported.
- Police quickly sealed off Twickenham Road to investigate.
- The next day, a 37-year-old man was arrested outside a Kingstanding home on College Road.
- He remains in custody and is assisting detectives with their inquiries.
Police have yet to reveal if any charges have been filed.
