Seven Jailed in Major Glasgow Drugs Bust
Seven men, led by Kashif Sadiq, have been locked up after being caught running serious organised crime rings. The gang’s downfall came thanks to a lengthy probe by Greater Glasgow detectives.
Leaders and Runners Sentenced
At Glasgow High Court on 9 August 2023, the ringleader Kashif Sadiq, 32, was handed six years and nine months behind bars. His key associates were also punished:
- Jordan Devine, 29 – five years
- Peter Davies, 23 – four and a half years
- Adam Ahmed, 24 – four years
- Asad Raja, 28 – four years
- John Robertson, 27 – four years
- Jamshaid Yaqoob, 38 – three years
‘Dr Greengo’ and ‘Roger Dodger’ Crackdown
The police probe started in May 2021, zeroing in on two online drugs brands run by Sadiq’s gang – ‘Dr Greengo’ and ‘Roger Dodger’. Snapchat was their main playground for illegal deals.
They used cunning distribution tricks – post, pick-up, and drop-off services, each with separate phone lines for buyers. Forensics and cyber sleuthing nailed everyone who dealt, packaged, stored, or delivered the banned substances.
Police Praise Effort and Impact
“Dismantling this group has significantly disrupted the supply of drugs in Scotland,” said Detective Inspector Alan Ferguson of Greater Glasgow CID. “This was a sophisticated criminal enterprise with Sadiq especially exploiting his illicit activity to fund a lavish lifestyle.”
