Tragedy struck at a Reigate flat as a fire left one man dead and others injured. Emergency services raced to Fir Tree Walk at 5.10pm on Friday, November 4, after flames broke out on the first floor.
Man Dies After Flat Blaze in Reigate
Firefighters and police arrived to find a man in his 40s trapped inside. He was rushed to St George’s Hospital in Tooting with severe burns and smoke inhalation but sadly died this morning.
Other Occupants Escape or Hurt
- Two others escaped the fire: a man and a woman.
- The man was taken to North East Surrey Hospital and is expected to recover fully.
- The woman escaped without needing hospital treatment.
