Shock in Margate: Driver Targets Police Special Constable

A red Daewoo Matiz sped towards a Kent Police Special Constable in Margate in a terrifying early-morning incident. The driver was asked to stop on Northdown Road just before 6.10am on Monday 16 December 2019 but instead aimed the car straight at the officer on foot.

Officer Narrowly Escapes Injury

Thankfully, the quick-thinking officer dodged the vehicle in time, avoiding any injury. The reckless driver then fled the scene, abandoning the car later found at Fort Paragon, Margate.

Police Hunt for Hit-and-Run Driver

Kent Police detectives are on the lookout for anyone who can help identify the driver. They are particularly eager to get hold of dashcam or private CCTV footage showing the red Daewoo’s movements before and after the incident.
