Tragic Brentford Blaze Claims Man’s Life and 16 Cats Feared Dead

Man dies in devastating Brentford house fire

For the first time, Ali Khan, 34, has been identified and pictured after losing his life in a horrific fire on Netley Road, Brentford. The blaze broke out shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, decimating the two-storey house.

The london/" title="London">London Fire Brigade battled the flames for over two hours. Firefighters found Ali on the ground floor, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Cats missing, feared dead

The property was home to 16 cats, all now missing and presumed dead following the inferno. Gas cylinders were being removed when the fire broke out, adding to the disaster.

Family in shock, heartbroken

Ali’s mother, Bobbie Wason, 65, who was also at the scene, praised her son’s “funny sense of humour and smile” in a heartfelt tribute.

“I’m staying strong because my son struggled with mental health issues. He was an alcoholic, and I promised myself I would not cry when he died—and I haven’t. I know he’s in a better place now. All I ask is for people to pray for my son,” said Bobbie.

Bobbie was later admitted to hospital, along with a 70-year-old homeless woman who remains in an induced coma. Another woman fled before firefighters arrived but was also hospitalised.

Emergency services respond

The London Fire Brigade confirmed the severity of the fire and the ongoing investigation. A spokesperson said:

“A man has sadly died following a house fire on Netley Road. The fire severely damaged the two-storey house.”

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called at 4:05 p.m. to reports of the blaze. The London Ambulance Service treated three people, but despite medical efforts, one person died at the scene.

Several nearby homes were evacuated during the incident. The cause of the fire is under police and fire service investigation.
